Assessment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the Associated Socio Demographic Parameters of Road Traffic Accident Victims

Background: Road traffic accident (RTA) is a global trauma which can produce traumatic stress with tremendous physical, social and psychological impairments to the victims. Post disorder (PTSD) most common mental disorders among RTA Objectives : To assess PTSD victims relationship between socio demographic parameters of PTSD. Methods: This cross sectional study conducted 202 patients attended in inpatient dept. specialized hospital Dhaka city for one year duration. Data collected from these using semi structured interview administered questionnaire assessed by Diagnostic Statistical Manual-IV DSM-IV(PCL-S). The data were analyzed SPSS software (Version 21) p < 0.05 considered as significant. Results: mean age found 37.6 (±13.2) years, majority 57.4% belongs 18-30 years group. Out 41.1% developed having e”51 score DSM-IV (PCL-S) checklist.
